ABSTRACT

The final short abstract of the paper in less than 300 words. 

INTRODUCTION

Most papers start with an introduction, although this is not essential. This document serves as a downloadable Template to introduce the layout and styles required for papers for the INFACON XI Congress. 

All papers should be prepared using Microsoft Word® 97, 2000 or XP and submitted in electronic format (via email, or on a disk). The Technical Programme Committee urges authors to download this template directly and to use it to complete INFACON XI 2007 manuscripts. The template includes Word Styles for the headings, captions, etc; these will number headings automatically and apply the appropriate fonts. 

Paper size and margins

The text of the paper should fit on A4 paper with 2 cm margin on all sides. Pages should be numbered at the bottom (centred). Place the number in the Word footer, and use a footer margin of 1.5 cm. The first page is saved as a separate Section with a 3cm footer margin to allow the Congress publisher to insertion a relevant Congress footer. The Congress publisher will perform final repagination.

The length of the paper, including the title page, should not exceed ten (10) pages.

Fonts and Spacing

The main body of the text should be a “Normal” style of 10pt scaleable Times Roman font with single line spacing, fully justified and with single blank lines between paragraphs.

Template Styles

The Title, Abstract Title and all Paper Headings and Captions of the paper should be in Arial font.

The paper “Title” should be 16pt bold and centred, with a 24pt spacing after it. It should be followed by the Author’s initials and surname and organisation in “Authors” style (12pt scaleable Times Roman font with single line spacing, centered and with a 12pt space after it). The Author’s organisation, mailing address, country and e-mail address should follow in “Footnote text” style (10pt scaleable Times Roman font with single line spacing, centered).

The “Abstract” style should be in 12pt bold and left justified. 12pt spacing precedes the Abstract heading, while a6pt spacing follows it. It should be followed by the “Abstract Text” style in 10pt italic in single line spacing, fully justified and with single blank lines between paragraphs.

The styles in the template are already spaced, so that NO blank lines are required between any text or headings, with the exceptions of new paragraphs in the “Normal” and “Abstract Text” text, and between the “Abstract Title” text and the First Heading. Decimal numbered headings should be used.
