"INFACON XI" held at the TAJ PALACE, New Delhi, India from February 18-21, 2007.

INVITATION FROM THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE

Dear Delegate

On behalf of the Indian Ferro Alloy Producers' Association (IFAPA), as the organisers of INFACON XI, I am extremely happy to invite you to INFACON XI, New Delhi, India.

The Ferro Alloy Industry came into existence in India in 1956 with a modest capacity, which has consistently increased to over 1,300 MVA with installed capacity of 2.4 million tonnes for various Ferro Alloys, and is emerging as an important Producer in Asia. With the implementation of electricity reforms and rapid growth in the Indian Steel Industry, the Indian ferro alloys industry has a potential to grow manifold.

The Indian Ferro Alloy Producers' Association is an apex body representing manufacturers of Bulk and Noble Ferro Alloys in India, and was established in 1961.

IFAPA, in association with Metal Bulletin, has already organised two International Conferences in India, which received an overwhelming response from more than 750 delegates across the globe.

It is a great honour for India to be awarded INFACON XI by the International Committee on Ferro Alloys (ICFA), South Africa, under the aegis of IFAPA. IFAPA is happy to organise this first prestigious Ferro Alloy Technical Congress in India, being held on 18-21 February 2007 in New Delhi, the capital of India.

I believe that the theme of the Congress “Innovations in Ferro Alloy Industry” is most appropriate for new developments and future challenges being faced by the Ferro Alloy Industry. INFACON XI will provide a forum for exchange of knowledge and new experiences in Ferro Alloy production, applications and markets. Let us participate together and explore the technical opportunities that this Congress provides, and also discover the cultural heritage of India.

The Organising Committee, Technical Committee, Administrative Committee and other Sub Committees, have been working hard and putting their best efforts for planning INFACON XI. IFAPA is also organising Post Congress Tours and Plant Visits, as well as sightseeing, to exciting locations.

This would be a great opportunity for the World Ferro Alloy and Steel fraternity to meet and exchange views with experts in their fields. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Authors, Presenters, Sponsors and all service providers for their support and welcome all the delegates to INFACON XI.

I am sure with your participation and support, IFAPA will take INFACON XI to new heights.

Looking forward to seeing you in New Delhi in February 2007.
